CREATING A QUERY
A query selects some of the fields from the table to display or print rather than viewing all fields in a table data sheet.
Follow the steps to create a Query using the simple Query Wizard :
Step 1 : Open the database.
Step 2 : Click the create tab.
Step 3 : Click the Query wizard button in the other group.
Step 4 : The new Query dialog box appears. At the new Query dialog box , with the simple Query wizard already selected in the list box click OK.
Step 5 : The Simple Query Wizard dialog box appears on the screen . At the first Simple Query wizard dialog box choose the table . You will see the available list of fields existed in the table in the available fields list box .
Step 6 : Click the Add Field button > to move from table/Query text box to Available Fields list box.
Step 7 : Choose the fields that you wish to display in the query results database . For this, first select the field and then press Add field button to move the field to the selected fields list box.
Step 8 : Fields from more than one table can be taken to add in the query results data sheet. After making the selections and moving the required fields to the selected Fields list box , go to the Tables/Queries text box again and click the drop-down arrow situated on its right . As you select another table , the fields of this new selected table appear in the Available Fields list box.
Step 9 : Double-click the field in the Available Fields list box . Double-clicking a field name is another way to move a field to the selected fields list box.
Step 10 : Click Next.
Step 11 : At the second Simple Query wizard dialog box , you will see a question would you like a detail or summary query ?
Select Detail
Step 12 : Click Next .
Step 13 : One more simply Query Wizard dialog box will appear . Here type an appropriate title 'what title do you want for your query ?' text Box .
Step 14 : Click Finish.
Now you can view the query results data sheet. you can sort , edit or format in a manner simple to a table data sheet . when you make any changes in the associated tables, the query data sheet gets updated automatically.
CREATING FORMS
Forms provide a user- friendly interface for viewing , adding , editing , and selecting records. We can create forms using the Form Tool , Split Form Tool and Form Wizard.
Step 1 : Open the database first.
Step 2 : Click once to select table name in the Navigation pane. In order to use the form tool, you must first select the table object that you want to use as the base for your new form.
